

Dorothy M. "Cookie" Ebert, age 87, passed away on April 14, 2014 at Monterey Care Center. She was born on December 24, 1926 to parents, Walter M. and Mildred F. (Byers) Ebert. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister, Martha Jane; brothers, Raymond, Walter, Jr., and Stanley Ebert; sister in-law, Diana Ebert; brother in-law, Hank Henry; and dearest friend, Janet Patton. She is survived by special caregivers, sister, Faye Henry; brother, James (Marlene) Ebert, and nieces, Elaine Freeman and Diana Bowman. She is also survived by sister in-law, Jean Haycook; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Cookie graduated from Grove City High School and retired from Federal Glass and Federal Paper Board after 46+ years. She was inducted into the Ohio Fast Pitch Hall of Fame as a player; Columbus Slow Pitch, Cincinnati Slow Pitch, and the National Slow Pitch Hall of Fame all as a coach. She coached the McGlaughlin Oil Slow Pitch Softball Team from 1971-1999. Cookie participated in many National Basketball AAU Championships. She was an avid fan of OSU Football; she loved tailgating and traveled to a lot of the games. She also followed OSU Basketball. Friends may call on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 11:00AM-1:00PM with funeral service following at 1:00PM at the SCHOEDINGER GROVE CITY CHAPEL, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, Ohio. Celebrant Andrew Hoover officiating. Interment will follow at Beckett Cemetery, Commerical Point, Ohio.
