Dorothy E. Fox

Dorothy Elizabeth Moore Bates Fox, age 103 died peacefully December 11, 2012. Dorothy was born June 26, 1909 to the late Mary L. and Edward Moore in Loveland, Oklahoma. She is also preceded in death by her husbands, Owen H. Bates and Ralph E. Fox, siblings, Fred, Myrtle, George, Helen and Bob; and son-in-law, Bob Bayer. Dorothy owned Bates Flowers and Gifts in Gahanna for over 40 years. She was currently living at Arlington Court Nursing Home but was a long time resident of Gahanna. Dorothy was also a member of the Gahanna Historical Society, enjoyed playing euchre, but most of all, Dorothy’s true love was visiting with family and reminiscing with past greeting cards and photos. Dorothy is survived by her loving daughter, Marijo Bayer; granddaughters, Darla (Chris) Herwig and Linda (Pierre Korikian) Bayer; great grandchildren, Josh (Lillian Connors) Lusk, Katie Lusk and Alicia (Jake Garner) Herwig; great great granddaughter, Turner; nephew, Ken ( Margot) Moore; along with nieces, nephews and step daughter, Marcia (Don) Rowles and family. Funeral services will be held at 4 P.M. Thursday, December 20, 2012 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., where family will receive friends from 2 P.M. until time of service.
