

Dorothy Mae Freeman, 82, died Thursday, January 13, 2011. She was most recently under Hospice care at Westminster Thurber Retirement Community . She was born July 17, 1928 in Garfield, OK to the late Athall Edgar and Mary F. Correll and was raised in Covington where she attended school and college. After her marriage to Edward James Letostak, she moved to Minerva Park where she resided for over fifty years. She was employed with J.C. Penney Co. from 1960-1970 and then the State of Ohio Rehabilitation Services from 1970 until her retirement in 1995. She enjoyed reading newspapers, magazines and novels, gardening, homemaking, watching TV and movies. She was an excellent cook. Dorothy stressed education to her children and helped them to get placed in universities and colleges. Bowling was her favorite hobby. She is preceded in death by her husband Edward, siblings Earl and Florence. She is survived by four children Sandy (Patrick) Meyer, Brother Michael Letostak, Kevin James (Vianne J.) Letostak and Carol Michele (Nelson) Hathaway, five grandchildren Flynn, Ethan (Emily) and Riley Meyer, Lisa and Jim Letostak. The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Lynn with Comfort Keepers, the HomeReach Hospice Staff, as well as the staff at Westminster Thurber.
