

Dorothy Maxine Osborne, age 90,beloved wife and mother, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, October 9, 2011. She was born in Crestline, Ohio in 1921 to Frank and Alice Smith, graduated from Crestline High School and came to Columbus to attend Columbus College of Art and Design. She was an excellent pianist who accompanied her husband’s singing. She was a member of First Community Church for over 70 years and belonged to Pilot Dogs, Inc. She loved tennis in her youth but dedicated herself to being the best wife and mother she could be. She nursed one daughter for many years and helped others along her way. Her other passion was animals both indoors and out. She spent hours gardening and shared her bounty with friends and neighbors. Dorothy was preceded in death by husband Lloyd L. Osborne, Sr., daughter Elaine and son Lloyd L. Osborne, Jr. She is survived by daughter Cheryl Knight (Tom) of Bonita Springs, FL, daughter-in-law Ann Osborne of Worthington and granddaughter Leigh Ann Osborne of New York City. Great thanks go to her caregivers Annette Atwell, Bruce Shalter, David Davidson and Kim Wilson who were so good to her and Home Reach Hospice for their care and counsel. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 from 6-8pm at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road, Columbus, Ohio 43221. Private family services with entombment at Union Cemetery.
