Dorothy Ellen Savage

Dorothy Ellen (Hindes) Savage was born August 12, 1916 in Columbus to the late Earle and Florence (Snider) Hindes and was married on February 22, 1937 to John R. Savage Jr. who preceded her in death. They were married for 67 years. Dorothy died on April 20, 2013 in the presence of her loving and caring children, Joanne Davis, Sandra Joyce, Jim (Linda) Savage, Christine (Dale) Sprout, and Jerry (Anna) Savage. She is also survived her 15 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, 19 great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by two brothers Paul and Don Hindes, two sons-in-law Jim Davis and Tom Joyce, daughter-in-law Barbara Savage and granddaughter Cindy Clark-Akers. Dorothy was a life long homemaker. She was a 1934 graduate of North High School and a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Dorothy and John loved to travel, especially to Las Vegas, where you could always find her at the slot machines. They were avid fans of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball team. The family would like to thank the Staff at the Laurels of Norworth for their loving and kind care they gave to our mother, as they helped us take care of her this last year and a half. Family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 AM at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church.
