Dorothy "Dottie" A. Workman

Surrounded by family, Dorothy (Dottie) A. Workman was taken home in God’s loving hands on March 26th, 2024. She was born October 16, 1940, in Topeka, Kansas. The daughter of Richard and Gilberta Hicks. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Lawrence; grandson, Christopher; sister, Margie Lucas and Patricia Comer. Dottie is survived by her loving husband, Walter; children, Diana Schumaker, Debra Burgess, Darlene (Pancho) Sanchez, Brandy Workman of Pickerington, Ohio and Donna Schumaker, Orange County, California; sister, Helen Cunningham of Pickerington; grandchildren, Joshua (Annie), Taylor, Cassandra, Aiden, Brandon (Keely), Adrienne, Shane, Natalie, Kaelin, Julio (Katherine), Alexandra, Anthony (Malerie), Lauren, and several Grand and Great Grand Children. Dottie was a member of The Order of The Eastern Star, Chapter 502 in Grove City for over 40 years. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Christmas Program at St. Stephens Community House, 1500 E. 17th Ave., Columbus, OH 43219. Dottie was a volunteer at this program for over 35 years. A Celebration of Life for Dottie is scheduled for 11 am- 1:15 pm Tuesday, April 2nd at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, with Pastor Jeff Beisel officiating at 1:15 pm.
