Edie H. Davis, beloved and loving wife, mother, nana, and daughter, went home peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior March 29, 2025, surrounded by her family. She joined in Heaven her devoted husband of sixty-five years and love of her life, Lynn E. Davis, who preceded her in November 2024.
Born July 1, 1939, in Abington Township, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank Carl and Edith (Bogia) Hitze and younger sister of the late Maude Elaine Hitze Meyerend. She was blessed to grow up in a Christian home and to accept Jesus as her Savior when she was eight years old. She was loved dearly by her parents and grandparents, who taught her to store up Scripture in her heart from an early age, and she was the apple of her Uncle Bill’s eye.
Edie graduated from North Penn High School and met Lynn that same year. They were married on February 21, 1959, in State College, PA, where Lynn was a student at Pennsylvania State University. Lynn’s service as an Airborne Ranger in the United States Army took the young couple as far away as Hawaii before they settled in Columbus, Ohio in 1965 to raise their six children.
Edie and Lynn are survived by and were the proud and devoted parents of their six children, Susan Massarelli (Greg, deceased), Bonnie Oldaker (David, deceased), Barbara Carlson (John), Debbie Lindgren (Tom), Bill (Kathy), and Mike (Rhonda), eleven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Edie was a faithful witness, teacher, and advocate for each of her children and relished being Nana to her grandchildren and great grandchildren—all of whom brought her boundless joy and a smile to her face each time she saw them. She will be forever remembered for her love for the Lord, her husband, and family.
Private services will be held. Interment at Glen Rest Memorial Estate.
