Edmen Levi Eubanks, age 76, of Reynoldsburg, Ohio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family following a brave battle with cancer. He was born July 23, 1937 in Columbus, Ohio and graduated from Marion Franklin High School, Class of ’55. He was an enterprising young man, and in 1972, following employment with Columbus Heat & Vent, J.A. Guy and A.H. Lumm, Ed founded DeFabCo Inc., a specialty metal manufacturing company. He loved his work, his employees, his customers and most of all, his family. Ed served as past-president of Associated Builders and Contractors and was a member of Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church. He appreciated classic rock music and hot-rods! He loved speed, and was sometimes known to drive his lightning pick-up truck a little too fast; he was a member of the Pipers Hot-Rod Club. Ed also had great adventures with a group of former Boy Scout Leaders, who lovingly dubbed themselves the “Eastside Choir Boys”. He is survived by his soul-mate, his “Dollie”, Sherrill Ann (Grandstaff) Eubanks, whom he married September 20, 1959. Together, they raised four children, William Edmen Eubanks, Kari Ann Eubanks (deceased), Lisa Marie Eubanks (fiancé Dave Heilman) and Jonathan Allen Eubanks; also survived by grandchildren, Joshua Cook and Christian Eubanks; brother, Philip Arden (Janet) Eubanks; close cousin Linda (Jack) Hatmacker; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Ray Dailey and Jim Joseph. In addition to his daughter, Kari, he was preceded in death by his parents, Edmen Raleigh and Barbara Mildred (Levi) Eubanks, mother-in-law, Evelyn Pauline Potts; father-in-law, William Harold Grandstaff and brother-in-law, Robert (Pat) Blue. Family will receive friends 2-4 and 6-8pm Thursday, August 29, 2013 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10am Friday, August 30, 2013 at Reynoldsburg United Methodist Church, 1636 Graham Rd., Reynoldsburg, OH 43068 with Pastor Maxine Smith-Pierce officiating; interment to follow at Silent Home Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice, 6150 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43213 or the American Cancer Society, 5555 Frantz Rd., Dublin, OH 43017 in his memory.
