Edward V. Bauer

Edward V. Bauer, age 90 of Hilliard passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016. Edward was born December 2, 1926, in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Valentine and Henrietta Bauer. In addition to his parents, Ed is preceded in death by his sisters Harriet Ayers and Virginia Sugarman. Ed graduated from Perry High School in Pittsburgh, PA in 1944. Ed (Eppy) was an outstanding athlete and excelled at baseball, even trying out for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Following high school, he served in the US Navy and attended a two-year technical school. Ed was the VP of Sauer Mechanical and opened the Columbus office in 1967. After 44 years of dedicated service, he retired from Sauer Mechanical in 1991. He was an active member of the Mechanical Contractors Association serving as President of the Association one year. He was a lifetime member of Riviera Country Club and an avid golfer. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Teresa; five children, Marty of Scottsdale, AZ, Tom (Christie) of Solana Beach, Ca, Janis (Jim) Davidson of Dublin, OH, LeAnn (Mike) McCord of Cincinnati, OH, and Nancy (Mark) Wallar of Dublin, OH; along with ten grandchildren, Jeffrey, Allison and Kara Bauer, Lauren, Robbie and Andrea Davidson, Jennifer and Andrew McCord, and Eddie and Eric Wallar. He is also survived by his sister Marie Hendrickson of Pittsburgh, PA. Ed's family and friends will cherish so many wonderful and lasting memories. All who had the privilege of spending time with him will remember his uncompromising devotion to work, family and friends. He had many friends and along with his family, they will miss him dearly. Family will receive friends from 11am-1pm on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., Columbus, OH, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Brendan's Catholic Church, 4475 Dublin Rd, Hilliard, OH at 2:00pm.
