Edward Walter Moore

Edward W. Moore, age 83, went to be home with the Lord January 23, 2010. He was born April 20, 1926 in Montville Twp., NJ to Harold Moore and Ellen Ferguson. He was married at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church on November 1, 1947. He was a founding member of Holy Family Catholic Church and he was an usher for more than forty years. Edward was a Veteran of World War II. He was also a proud retired Iron Worker for Northern New Jersey Local No. 11. Edward was a lifelong resident of Union Beach, NJ. He is preceded in death by his wife, Regina; brother, Charlie Moore; and parents. Edward is survived by his daughters, Linda (Fred) Perkins, and Sharon (Ray) Drum; sister, Agnes Martin; brother, Andy Moore; six grandchildren; and many great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in his memory to American Macular Degeneration Foundation PO Box 515 Northampton, MA 01061-0515. Family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Thursday, January 28, 2010 and 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Friday, January 29, 2010 at Day Funeral Home, 361 Maple Place, Keyport, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Holy Family Roman Catholic Church, 727 State Route 36, Union Beach, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
