Edwin C. Podolski

Edwin C. Podolski, age 83, went home to the Lord on Monday, January 13, 2014. He was born August 7, 1930 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late John and Hattie (Kowalski) Podolski; also preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Grace. He served in the U.S. Army and National Guard and retired from J.T.’s General Store, where he was known as the “JT Man”. He loved Cleveland sports, avid participant in football pools, the lottery and gardening. Ed was a member of Holy Spirit Parish for over 50 years. He was very active in the Knights of Columbus-Marian Council #3864 where he served many years as club manager. He is survived by his children, John (Nolanda) Podolski, Steven Podolski, Linda Schwartzwalder, Eddie (Debra) Podolski, and Janet (Donn) Mills; grandchildren, Aaron, James F., Amber, Kristen, Kaitlen, Kortney, Amanda, James P. Jeri, Michael and Jennifer; 9 great grandchildren; sister, Audrey Latzanich; extended family and friends, especially Nora McCoy. Family will receive friends from 4-7 pm(Rosary at 6:30pm) Friday January 17, 2014 at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am on Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 4383 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43213, Fr. William L. Arnold, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Spirit Parish, or to the Knights of Columbus in his memory.
