Eileen Young

E. Eileen Young, age 87, passed away Wed. March 15, 2017. She was born Dec. 8, 1929 in Holmes County to the late John and Mabel (Stitzlein) Young. Survived by sisters, Doris (John) Wilson of Fort Myers, FL, Joanne (Ron) Meeks of Wooster, OH; brother John (Hazel) Young of Glenmont, OH; nieces, nephews, many friends and lifelong friend Judy Valentine. Eileen was a graduate of Glenmont High School, earned a BS from Capital University and completed her MA at The Ohio State University. She was an active member of Faith Lutheran Church in Whitehall. Eileen taught in Mifflin Twp., Loudonville and Whitehall, was a language arts editor with Charles E. Merrill Books and an editorial consultant for the Ohio Dept. of Education. She was a member of Gamma Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma (DKG), Franklin County Retired Teachers, Capital University Alumnae and the Columbus Education Association Retired (CEA-R). Calling hours are 2-5 Sunday, March 19, 2017 at Schoedinger East Chapel, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., Columbus, OH 43232. Funeral Service 2:30pm Monday March 20, 2017 (visiting 1:30-2:30pm) at Faith Lutheran Church, 730 Collingwood Ave, Whitehall, OH with Pastor Eric Moehring officiating.
