Elaine Reese, age 76, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 26, 2020, in Columbus Ohio. Born on September 17, 1943 to Howard and Minnie (Litt) Gilmore near Fredericktown, Ohio, she was the younger of two children.
Elaine took great pride in her educational and professional accomplishments. Graduating cum laude from Franklin University with a degree in Business and Marketing, she used her skills as a Business Marketing Manager at The Scotts Company in Marysville, Ohio. Later she attended Hondros College and became a real estate agent with HER Realtors.
Elaine will be remembered for her love of dogs, working on her landscape, feeding the birds and her passion for patriotism. A quote from her book It's All About Lemonade, "I don't know what the future will hold, but I know that I've been able to experience life… to have disappointments that were overcome with successes. Many years ago, I used to say that I didn't want to be old sitting in a rocker, saying, "Gee, I wish I had done this or that." I've been fortunate to do everything I wanted to do plus many other achievements I never dreamed I could do. I have a terrific family that I am very proud of and that, after all, is the best legacy any person can leave to the world."
Left to honor Elaine and remember her love are Elaine's two children, Sonya (Lance) Younker and Pamela Davis; four grandchildren; Cortney (Shandon) North, Caselia (Dustin) Thompson, Mariesa Davis and Rebecca Davis; a sister, Irene Skartved; a niece and nephews along with her beloved dachshund Murphy.
A celebration of life event will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers and gifts, a tax-deductible gift in Elaine's memory can be made to The James Cancer Strategic Support Fund at: http://bit.ly/ElaineReese or mailed to the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, P.O. Box 183112, Columbus, Ohio 43218.
