Elaine B. Simmons

Elaine B. Simmons, 93 went home to be with the Lord on September 16, 2017. She was born March 15, 1924 to the late Allen and Nellie Atkinson in Sandusky, Ohio. She met her future husband, Colonel John J. Simmons at Cedar Point where he worked as a lifeguard and she in the bath house. They went on to celebrate 53 years of a beautiful marriage. Elaine is preceded in death by her husband and her daughter Mary Lou; siblings, Dorothy, Mildred, Ruth, John and Kenneth. Surviving her are her son, David, grandchildren, Jennie (Andy) Howell and John S. Dailey; great grandchildren, Dylan, Krista, Shelby, Ashley, Curtis and Levi; extended family, Walt and Linda Dailey, numerous nieces and nephews. She was the heart and soul of our family and loved us all unconditionally. We will miss her greatly but take solace in knowing she is with her Heavenly Father and our dear departed loved ones. A celebration of her life will be held 1:00pm Friday September 22, 2017 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL 6699 N. High St. (1/2 mile south of 270) where friends may call 1 hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery, Galloway, Ohio 43119.
