Elinor A Butler

Friday, October 14, 2016 at Caring Touch in Lockbourne. She

was born September 3, 1939 in Circleville, the daughter of Alva

Edwin and Martha Elinor (Hurst) Teegardin. She was preceded

in death by her parents; and her husband of 46 years, Edward

Walter Butler in 2008. Ellie graduated from Mt. Sterling High

School in 1957 and from Ohio University in 1961 with a B.S. Degree

in Education. Ellie and Ed were married on June 16, 1962 and after

going through a couple of different moves with Ed’s job, settled down

in New Castle, PA for 28 years where they raised their family and were

active in church and community affairs. They returned to Pickaway

County in 1994. A member of the Presbyterian Church in Circleville,

Ellie was an elder and trustee and took part in many church activities

including the handbell choir. She was also a member of the Goodtime Quilters

and Friends of Berger and had enjoyed traveling to many different countries with Ed.

Ellie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly

missed by all who knew her.

Ellie is survived by her sons, Douglas Edward (Kellie) Butler and Thomas Edwin Butler; grandchildren,

Kathryn Elyse Butler, Christopher Joseph Butler, Hana Noelle Butler and Nina Faith

Butler; sister, Nancy (Charles Denny) Stienecker; twin brother, Edwin Hurst

Teegardin; sisters-in-law, Beverly (John) Crowe and Rosalie (Raymond) Whitney;

and many other family members and dear friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at Noon on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the

Presbyterian Church, 134 E. Mound St., Circleville, with The Rev. Dr.

Jeri Lynne Bouteres officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Presbyterian Church,

Capital Improvement Fund, 134 E. Mound St., Circleville, OH 43113 or Berger Hospice,

600 N. Pickaway St., Circleville. Arrangements were entrusted to Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home.
