Elizabeth Mae Bone

Born in Columbus, Ohio, on April 4, 1944, Liz was the daughter of the late Gilbert and Lily (Broyls) Miller. She dedicated 28 years of service to J.C. Penney Outlet before retiring.

Liz was an amazing mother, wife, sister, granny, and great-granny. She lived life with a warm and welcoming spirit and truly never met a stranger. Anyone who knew her could never forget her precious smile and signature chuckle. She enjoyed bowling, spending time with animals—especially her beloved cats and her dog, Sandy—and listening to the music of Elvis Presley. Growing up near the water, she developed a lifelong love of water skiing and cherished the many memories she made on the lake with family and friends.

Nothing brought Liz more joy than spending time with her family. She especially treasured every opportunity to be with her great-grandchildren and loved creating special memories with them whenever she could.

In addition to her parents, Liz was preceded in death by her husbands, Jerry Hicks Sr. and J.R. Stetzer; her son, Jerry Hicks Jr.; her brother, Gilbert Miller; her sister, Pat Howington; and her dear friend, Ruth Miller.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 37 years, Ned Bone; her daughter, Donna Hicks; her only grandchild, Jessie Craiglow (Nick Perigo); her great-grandchildren, Trinitiy and P.J.; step-granddaughter, Zoey Roth; her daughter-in-law, Anna Hicks; her sister, Sue McManus; her brother, Keith (BJ) Miller; numerous nieces and nephews; and her devoted aide, Jen Ward whose care and compassion meant so much to Liz and her family.

Family and friends are invited to gather from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43232. A funeral service will begin at 12:00 noon, with interment to follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens.

Liz will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her. Her kindness, laughter, beautiful smile, and unwavering love for her family will remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
