Elizabeth Jean Russell

Elizabeth Jean Russell, formerly of Elery, Ohio died in Worthington,Ohio on January 8, 2019. She was born September 1, 1927 in Henry County, Ohio to Claude and Marie (Leifer) Willford. Elizabeth married her husband of 71 years Raymond Wallace (Wally) Russell on August 18,1946.

To this union were born three children, Michael W. (Carol) Russell, Worthington, Ohio, Rand (Christine) Russell, Oxford, U.K. and Robin (Tim) Carrig, Kenton, Ohio. She was blessed with six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Elizabeth was an accomplished seamstress, cook and partner in farming. She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, active in Women of Church and choir and spent her time and talents making hundreds of quilts for Lutheran World Relief, delivering meals on wheels and attending to the local food pantries.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and step-father Otto Fuhrhop.

Services will be held at Hope Lutheran Church, St. Rt. 18, Hamler, Ohio on Monday, January 14, 2019 beginning at 11:00 a.m. with visitation at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
