

Ella Linville Powell, former resident of Upper Arlington, died on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at The Sanctuary. She was born July 1, 1919, the third daughter of Murry E. and Goldie McLaughlin Linville. Preceded in death by parents and sisters, Anna M. Linville and Helen Moore. Widow of the late Kirker Powell. Survived by sons, Roger L. Powell and Reed L. Powell; grandson, Brent K. Powell; great granddaughter, Victoria Martin; sister, Betty George. Former member of King Avenue United Methodist Church where she served as the Recording Secretary to the Administrative Board. Former member of Northwest United Methodist Church where she was cofounder of the “2-L’s” group. Member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a Life Member of The Culver Mothers Club and The Fairfield County Chapter of The National Honor Society. Former Treasurer-Comptroller of The Simpson Company and Executive Director of The Advertising Federation of Columbus. In retirement, she was associated with the Accounting Department of CompuServe. During her professional career, she held memberships in The American Society of Association Executives, American Institute of Management, American Accounting Association and The National Association of Accountants. Past President of The American Society of Women Accountants and a charter member of The Treasurers Club of The Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, December 20, 2012, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1581 Cambridge Blvd. Friends will be received at the church following the memorial service.
