
Mrs. Ellen Faye Million Laurie, 77, of Columbus, Ohio, wife of Allie P. Laurie, Sr., passed on to her heavenly home, Saturday, January 5, 2019. Faye as she was lovingly known, was born November 3, 1941, in Frankfort, Kentucky to the late Alford Wm. Million, Jr. and Nannie Mae Mason. Her first love was her beloved Yeshua, whom she sought fervently throughout her life. Her second love was her family and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren for dinners, cookouts and other family gatherings. She attended and graduated from Lincoln Institute, and received an Associate Degree from Fugazzi College of Business. She married Allie P. Laurie, Sr. in 1960, who was serving the USAF. The Lauries moved to Fallon, Nevada; Springfield, Massachusetts and Misawa Air Force Base, Japan. She started working for the U.S. Government while in Japan in 1965 and after working for several government agencies, she retired from the Department of Defense in 1995. Faye is preceded in death by siblings Nettie Mae, Alfred Wm., III (Bobo), Donald Lee (Donnie), James Samuel (Sammie/Bo) Million and in-laws Charles and Edna Laurie. Along with her husband of 59 years, she leaves to cherish precious memories her loving and devoted daughter Letitia L. (Tish) (Charles, Jr.) Hale, Columbus, OH; loving son Allie P. (Jim Jessop) Laurie, Jr., San Diego, CA. Grandchildren Christina Laurie, Christopher Cain and Michaela Hale. Great-grandchildren Orenthal Strother and Kaliyah Perry, Carys, Christian Alexander, Zachariah and Zoe Cain, Columbus, OH. Sisters Camellia (Susie) Tinsley, Louisville, KY, Patricia (Kittie) Jacobs, Alice Pauline Taylor and Marcella (Marse) Jackson, Frankfort, KY and Brenda (BJ) Shuford, Battle Creek, MI. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Faye was buried after a private ceremony at Schoedinger Funeral Home on January 9, 2019, at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 5600 E. Broad St. Columbus, OH. A memorial service will be held February 17, 2019, from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the chapel located on the Forest Lawn grounds.
