

Elwin G. “Butch” Mills, Jr., 65, of South Bloomfield, passed away Saturday, October 22, 2011 at his residence. He was born July 8, 1946 in Columbus, Ohio, the son of the late Elwin and Berniece (Greenlee) Mills, Sr. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Chrysler; and his former wife, Linda (Boggs) Mills. Butch is survived by his loving wife of 8 years, Merry Kay (Glitt) Schamehorn Mills; daughter, Lisa Mills; sons, Fred (Juli) Mills and Scott Schamehorn; grandchildren, Amanda Yeater, Zach, Josie and Rachel Mills; great-grandson, Austin Mills; sister, Joy (Jack) Jones; many nieces, nephews and friends; and his special dog, Abby. Butch served in the Navy during the Vietnam War and attended the Nicholas Drive Church of God. He was a truck driver for over 30 years and was owner/operator of Mills Transportation. Butch was a very likeable person and loved his family, Buckeye football and fishing. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, October 28, 2011 at Defenbaugh-Wise-Schoedinger Funeral Home with Pastor Keith Williams officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery with military honors provided by AMVETS Post 2256 Honor Guard. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until the time of service on Friday.
