

Emily was born on January 18, 1930 in Bridgeport, OH to the late Carl and Anna (Leibenguth) Erbe. At an early age Emily, with her family, moved to the Columbus area and she graduated from South High School class of ’48. She then entered into the Grant Hospital School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse in 1951. After Mr. Marvin Weinhart returned from his station in Germany, during the Korean War, Emily and Marvin were married on February 7, 1953. They celebrated over 58 years before her passing. Emily started her career as a nurse to Drs. Grant and Helen Graves then later joined the Monterey Care Center at its opening in 1965, became Director of Nursing, and remained with them until her retirement in 1978. She was a member of the St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church since 1953.
Throughout Emily’s career and life, she was a loving and caring person who had a Christian Spirit that was evident to everyone that came in contact with her. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Emily’s survivors include her husband, Marvin Weinhart of Grove City; daughters, Melinda (Dirk) Krouskop of VA and Carol (Mark) Williams of Hilliard; grandchildren, Natalie and Adrienne Krouskop, Matthew, Allyson, Jeffrey, and Jennifer Williams.
The family will be receiving friends at the St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3220 Columbus St. Grove City, OH from 1:30pm until 2:30pm where a memorial service will follow at 2:30pm Sunday June 12, 2011. Interment will be private at a later date. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Schoedinger-Norris Funeral Home, 3920 Broadway, Grove City, OH. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Monterey Care Center, Emily A. Weinhart Scholarship Fund for Nursing Education, or to St. John’s Evangelical Church in her honor.
