

WRUCK. Eric G. Wruck, age 54, passed away Saturday, January 22, 2011, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife Karen and by their beloved daughters, Alice, Clara and Louisa. Eric is also survived by his parents Esther Schmidt Wruck and Erich-Oskar Wruck, his sister Krista Wruck Norris and by eight nieces and nephews. His sister Karin Wruck Phillips preceded him in death following her own courageous battle with cancer.
Eric was born in Fort Sill, Oklahoma and spent most of his childhood years in Davidson, North Carolina. He graduated from Davidson College with a degree in mathematics, going on to earn an MBA from the University of Rochester and a PhD from Cornell University. He worked as a consulting financial economist and statistician for the majority of his professional career, and most recently as a Senior Lecturer at Ohio State University’s Fisher College of Business.
Eric was a devoted father and husband. He was also an avid college basketball fan with a special interest in the Davidson Wildcats. A passionate follower of the folk music scene, Eric served on the board of Six Strings Concerts and enjoyed identifying talented artists for their concert series.
A Memorial Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at the Bexley United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, Eric and his family ask that you consider a donation in his name to Zusman Community Hospice, which supported him in finding peace and comfort with his family, Six Strings Concerts, which was his passion, or Davidson College, which always held a special place in his heart.
