

Ermo Joseph Paglione, age 90, passed away on Thursday, April 21, 2011. He was born on May 9, 1920, to the late Saverio and Carmela Paglione, and was a graduate of Holy Rosary High School. After serving our country in the US Army, Ermo worked as an office manager for Landmark Grainery for 35 years. He was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church where he served as head usher for many years, and he enjoyed spending time with the 37th Division Veterans Association. Ermo was very athletic and remained active in golf, fishing, and bowling. He took pride in maintaining his yard, and he was a great handyman. He was creative and generous, and whether it was a ticket to an event or candy from his pocket, he was always willing to give. He loved spending time with his family, and he will be missed by his children, Gerald (Sue) Paglione, Marcia Haley, Mark (Diane) Paglione, and Lisa Hertenstein; grandchildren, Tony, Tommy, Joey (Lisa), Shane (Jeff), Lindsey, Samantha (Mike), James (Melanie), and Jared; and great grandchildren, Jacob, Sofia, Ryleigh, Reaghan, Brooklyn, and Jacob. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Martha; brothers, Vincent and Leo; sisters, Anita, Elvina, Regina, and Amelia; sons-in-law, Joseph Haley and Jeffrey Hertenstein; and brothers-in-law, Herbert Smith, Terry Britton, Howard Cline, William Kiraly, William Novak, and John Bauer. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2011, at the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 5360 E. Livingston Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Our Mother of Sorrows Chapel at St. Joseph Cemetery, 6440 S.
