

Esther Arango Daugherty, 88 of Powell, Ohio formerly of Ocala, Florida, died peacefully on Wednesday June 17, 2015. Esther retired from National Airlines/Pan Am. She was a Stewardess Supervisor on the first commercial flight within the United States, coined “Jet Flight Number 1” from New York to Miami in 1958. She loved traveling and seeing the world with her husband and love of her life Michael Daugherty. Besides her husband Michael she is preceded in death by her parents, Rufina and Jose Arango; sister, Matilda Arango. Esther is survived by her brother, Joseph Arango; nephews and nieces, John (Laura) Arango, Joseph (Laura) Arango III, Edward Arango, David (Denise) Arango, Diane (Matt) Fleming and Mary Louise Arango; step son, Michael (Susan) Daugherty. A mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30am Thursday June 25th at ST. PAUL the APOSTLE CATHOLIC CHURCH 313 N. State Street Westerville, OH 43082. Father David E. Gwinner Celebrant. Burial will be 11:00am Saturday June 27th at Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Tampa FL.
