

Esther Mae Ollar, age 88, passed away at the Sunrise of Richmond in Richmond, Virginia on Sunday, September 13, 2015. She was born on September 19, 1926 in Fairfield County, Ohio to the late Ora Thurman and Mary Esther Hoover Ricketts. A graduate of Pleasantville High School, Esther worked for Carrier Air Conditioning as a secretary and retired from the State of Ohio as an administrative assistant. During her life, she was an award winning basketball player, a wonderful mother, an excellent cook, and a talented seamstress. Esther was an avid traveler and enjoyed antiques and spending time with her family and grandchildren.
Esther is survived by her daughters: Patti (Mark) Richards of Richmond, Virginia and Barbara (Jerry) Rodden of Mount Vernon, Ohio; and her grandchildren: Brent, Connor, Leah, Hannah, Micah, and Jeremiah; brother, Orval; and sisters, Lucille and Rita.
She is preceded in death by her husband, William S. Ollar (2007); brothers: Lester Ray (1932), Lowell (1984), Oren (1990), Ora Jr (1996), Thurman (2003) and sister Thelma (2010). A Funeral Service with Rev. Rick Marshall officiating will be held at 10 am, Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Fletcher Chapel United Methodist Church and Cemetery, 490 Blacklick Road in Millersport, Ohio, where interment will follow services.
