Ethyl M. Van Almsick

Ethyl worked for the Columbus Metropolitan Library and retired from Gahanna-Jefferson City Schools where she worked in food service. She also served on the Jefferson Twp. Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, was a strong supporter of her children's activities and a lifelong fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Frederick "Van" Van Almsick, Jr, daughter Kathy Jenkins, and all of her siblings. Ethyl is survived by her children: Bill (Mary), Gary (Joanne), Terry (Jacquee), and Jodi (Chris) Van Almsick; grandchildren: Adam and Megan, Chris (Amanda), and Patra (Shaun) Van Almsick, Jenna Myers, Austin and Alyson Van Almsick, Marc and Andy Wing, Matt and Angela Jenkins; great-grandchildren: Kaden, Marissa, Shayde and Cheyanne; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Groveport Special Olympics P.O. Box 296, Groveport, OH 43125. Arrangements entrusted to SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, OH 43230 where a visitation will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 4-7pm and a funeral service on Friday, April 12, 2019 at 11:00am; interment to follow at Jefferson Township Cemetery.
