Obituary of Eugenia B. Davison
Eugenia (Backus) Davison was born on June 25, 1924 in Nelsonville, Ohio, the daughter of Opal Fay (Erb) and Eugene Preston Backus. She passed away on July 26, 2022 at Forest Hills Memory Care Center after a brief stay. Eugenia was a 1942 graduate of West High School. She was a Charter/Lifetime member of Glenwood United Methodist Church on the Hilltop. She loved to sing in the church choir, the Männerchor, Swiss Club, and Vaud-Villities. She was employed for many years as an executive secretary of engineering at Jeffrey Mining and Manufacturing. A lover of animals, she was never without a cat or dog. She had many "fur babies" throughout her lifetime. She loved watching the birds, keeping the bird feeders full in the backyard. She was also a docent at the Columbus Zoo. Eugenia enjoyed many social activities including dancing, playing cards, traveling, and hosting parties. She enjoyed lunches and laughter with her Red Hat sisters, and always made time for lengthy phone conversations with her special friend Bob F. She was greatly loved, and will be sorely missed by her family and many friends and neighbors: the Pummels, the Jellisons, the Weinharts, Joanne Robinson, Glenwood Church friends, Karen Little and Mike Hackett, Buckeye Lake and Scioto Woods neighbors, as they cared so much for her. She enjoyed her summer home at Buckeye Lake, sharing great times with special neighbors, like Alice, Ron and Nancy, and Mike and Bobbie Schilling. She was a member of the Buckeye Lake Yacht Club. Eugenia was preceded in death by her parents; her daughters, Connie Wolfe and Wanda Scarberry. She is survived by her loving and caring husband of 44 years, Donald E. Davison, and daughter Vickie Broersma (Bruce); Granddaughter Ashley (Michael) Shrider; Grandson Alexander (Chelsea) Broersma; Great-grandchildren Cora & Henry Shrider, and Jordan Broersma; Step-daughter Cheryl Davison Briggs, Step-son Steve (Michelle) Davison; Grandchildren Piper and Luke Davison; Grandson Brad (Gigi) and great-granddaughter Scarlette; Son-in-law Roger Wolfe. The family would like to thank all of her caring friends and neighbors, and her doctors and staff at Forest Hills and Echo Hospice.
