

Evangeline “Sis” Carpenter, of Columbus, passed away Wednesday, August 11, 2010 after a battle with cancer. Sis was born November 10, 1971 in Columbus and was a 1990 graduate of Linden McKinley High School. She has been employed with East Side Surgery Center and enjoyed the patients, doctors, and her work friends. Sis had a strong work ethic, loved to play basketball, gardening, cooking, being around people, and had a fondness for the Native American culture. Her grandson, Drake, brought a sparkle to her eye and she said that family was the best thing that ever happened to her. Sis enjoyed the simple things in life and was a very trusted friend. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, soothing voice, singing talent, and kind heart. Preceded in death by her mother, Sue Bolyard; infant sister, Barbara Jean; grandparents, Golden Bolyard, and Benjamin and Sylver Henson; and numerous loved ones. Evangeline will be missed by her loving husband of 11 years, Steve; son, Josh A. (Shirley) Bolyard; daughter, Ella M. Carpenter; grandson, Drake Bolyard; father, Gary Bolyard; brothers, Kenny L. Henson and Gary A. (Chris) Bolyard II; grandmother, Mildred Bolyard; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Family will receive friends Monday, August 16, 2010 from 12 Noon until the time of funeral services at 1pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, 43230; Rev. Rocky Brown, officiating. Interment in Mifflin Cemetery.
