Evelyn Hernandez was born on April 18th, 2010 in Columbus, Ohio. Daughter to Jose Hernandez and Cecilia Sandoval, and sister to Luis Hernandez (12 years old), and Alison Hernandez (2 years old). Granddaughter to Guillermo Hernandez Mendoza, Eliza Lopez Reyes, Angel Sandoval, and Amalia Ramirez. She began her education at St. James the Less Catholic School where she finished second grade.
Evelyn was a child who spread tremendous joy; she was full of life, optimism, and questions. She was an outdoors fan and loved to play with her brother, sister, and other relatives until exhaustion. At an early age she began to explore and extend her knowledge, and the questions for her parents were never ending. As she grew older, Evelyn showed signs of maturity, kindness, and concern towards others.
She liked to give gifts to her friends and teachers on many occasions, and she became upset if her parents were not always on board with her. In her later years, an attachment to Barbie dolls and miniature toys grew as well as a sense of organization to keep track of every one of those toys.
Though her grandma, Amalia, is a wonderful cook of Mexican cuisine, Evelyn chose the classic “chicken wings” for her preferred meal, and water was her favorite beverage... after soda, juice, lemonade, Jumex, and fruit punch, of course. Dancing and YouTube Kids were her motivation to do homework, so naturally those went in order of completion.
She was beginning to turn from a child to a very young lady by showing special care for her hair and nails which she would model to the family. Smiles, innocence, and joy were what she brought into this world and to the people she met. She was such an angel that God chose for her to come home to Him and bring joy to the heavens.
Schoedinger Worthington Chapel is honored to be serving the Hernandez family.
