Mark Gareth Feixiang Friend, 17, passed away unexpectedly on February 6, 2021. He was born in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, in the Peoples' Republic of China. He was adopted into a loving home by his parents, Todd and Jane Friend on February 26, 2013. Feixiang was in his junior year at Gahanna Lincoln High School and was an active member of the marching and concert bands. He loved participating in his art classes and was interested in automobile design. Outside of school, Feixiang enjoyed caring for his pets, target shooting with his father, flute lessons with Mrs. Diane Ballard and Melody Wan, and online gaming with friends. Feixiang worked hard to maintain his birth language, taking lessons at the Columbus School of Chinese with his teacher and mentor, Mr. Chris Stellato, and taking AP Chinese at Lincoln High School. Feixiang served as acolyte for his church's traditional worship services for many years. He was quiet and reserved, but displayed a deep sense of humor and dry wit among his family.
