

Florence K. Reuter, age 97, passed away Monday, March 7, 2016 at Kobacker House in Columbus, Ohio. She was born to Herbert Krey, Sr. and Dora (Waferling) Krey in Maplewood, New Jersey. She was a graduate of Columbia High School in Maplewood, NJ. and after high school attended Parson's School of Design in New York City. She married the love of her life, George Irwin Reuter in 1943. Florence and George moved from Maplewood, NJ to Findlay, Ohio in 1959. After a few years, they then moved in 1964 to Canfield, Ohio where she was a member of the Canfield Sleepy Hollow Garden Club. She retired from the Farmer's Savings and Loan in Canfield after 17 years of dedicated service. Florence moved to central Ohio to be near her children and grandchildren. She was a talented painter and sold numerous paintings at craft shows. Florence was an accomplished seamstress and knitter, making many tailored outfits for herself and her sons. She was an avid gardener who was especially proud of her roses. Florence was a competitive Bridge player up until 95 years of age. Florence was a devoted member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, George, her parents and siblings, Herbert Krey, Jr. and Amanda Krey Williams. She is survived by loving sons, Don J. (Kathy) Reuter and G. Wynn Reuter; grandchildren, Amanda and Anastasia "Stacey" Reuter, Alyssa and Alex (Meagan) von Reuter. A memorial service will be held 11a.m. on Monday, April 4, 2016 at Overbrook Presbyterian Church, 4131 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214 where family will receive friends from 10am until the time of service. Private family interment at a later date.
