Frances E. McCabe

Frances Elizabeth McCabe, age 76, passed away, Saturday, December 3, 2016 at The James Cancer Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 14, 1940 to the late, Thomas and Frances (Hegamyer) Moyer in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Fran was a graduate of Howard High School in Howard, Ohio. Fran was dedicated to the Olympic Tennis Club as the front desk clerk for over 38 years. She enjoyed travelling the country with family and to the tennis tournaments with her Olympic Tennis family. Fran always came across friends while travelling and never met a stranger. She will always be remembered for her love and happiness she gave to others. Fran enjoyed working at Immaculate Conception grade school where her children attended. She was a devoted mother volunteering her time to the school activities and sports programs. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by daughter, Christine "Tina" McCabe. Fran is survived by loving husband of 57 years, John William "Bill" McCabe; beloved daughters, Candace "Candy" (Thomas Jantvold) Daniel and Angela "Angel" Matney; grandchildren, Jimmy and Branden Matney, Heather (Kyle) Smith, Jennifer Elizabeth (Jon) Rood, Douglas Knierim, Brittney Snyder and James Thomas Snyder; great-granddaughter, Grace Elizabeth Rood; brothers, who lovingly called her "Sissy", Thomas (Vivian) Moyer and William "Bill" Moyer; brothers-in-law, J. Daniel "Dan"(Mary Lou) McCabe and Richard "Dic" (Sarah) McCabe; nieces and nephews, Phillip (Tawny) Moyer, Spencer (Tricia) Moyer, Valorie Moyer Friedsam, Tomi Miller, Joseph (Vicki) McCabe, Molly (Steve) Boysel, Matt (A.J.) McCabe, Josh McCabe, Jeanne (Gregg Montgomery)McCabe, Michael (Elaine) McCabe, Colleen (David) Brown, Elaine (Steve)Statti and James (Laura) McCabe; special friends, Jim and Mary Crisswell and Joy Hale. Family will receive friends Thursday, December 8, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Road, where a funeral service will be held Friday, December 9, 2016 at 11 a.m. Private family interment at a later date in Millwood, Ohio.
