Frances E. Orendorff

Frances E. Orendorff, age 84, passed away December 23, 2019 at Continuing Healthcare of Gahanna, following a brief illness. Frances, affectionately known as "Eddie" was born November 11, 1935 to the late Edward C. Dunfee and Frances L. (Dunfee) Warren; also preceded in death by her husband, Warren "Abe" Orendorff, son Philip Orendorff and sisters Flo, Jean and Jo. Eddie was a 1953 graduate of Columbus South High School where she made lifelong friends and participated in many activities. Eddie first worked as a telephone switchboard operator for the Columbus Prosecuting Attorney's Office, where she honed her gift of gab and love of people. While growing her family with Abe to include sons John and Phil, Eddie turned her passion for working with people into a long career in healthcare. She worked alongside doctors to build successful practices as she worked hard to grow her own skills until her retirement in 2012. Eddie never met a stranger and had a knack for making people laugh. She was a 25-year breast cancer survivor and was an advocate for awareness of the disease that only made her stronger. Eddie is survived by her son, John (DeAnn) Orendorff of Bentonville, AR, Grandson Brenner Orendorff of Tulsa, OK; Granddaughter Hannah Orendorff of Columbus, OH, both she loved without end and could not brag about enough; Sisters Sharon (the late Paul) Bice; Patti (Bill) Griffitts; Connie (Tom) Bossetti; numerous nieces and nephews whom she adored; and special friends with whom she made life memories. A Memorial Service will be held 12pm Saturday, January 11, 2020 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.), Gahanna, OH. The family will receive family and friends from 10am-12pm.
