Francis "Frank" L. Novak

Francis “Frank” L. Novak, age 88, passed away Friday, June 16, 2023 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Wilmerding, PA on February 13, 1935 to the late Francis and Mary (Tomosky) Novak. After high school, Frank proudly served in the U.S. Air Force. He was an electronic technician with Boeing for many years. Frank was an avid reader and OSU fan. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, watching war movies, keeping a meticulous yard and vegetable garden, his pool, margaritas, crushed ice and SCI-FI. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Marianne) Novak. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Joann (Billups) Novak; daughters, Jenny (Gary) Bowman and Beth (Steve) Barber; granddaughter, Jessica (Nick Procaccini) Knowlton-Bowman; grandson, Andrew (Jess Lane) Bowman; many nieces, nephews and extended family; long-time neighbors, Norm Bednarski, Wayne McCain, and John and Marian Eck as well as many dear friends. Family will receive friends 5-8 pm Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at Schoedinger East, 5360 E. Livingston Ave., where the funeral service will begin at 11 am Thursday, June 22, 2023. Interment to follow with military honors at Glen Rest Memorial Estate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
