Fred Burton

Joe "Fred" Burton, age 85, passed away October 8, 2018 at Grant Medical Center after an extended illness. He is survived by his son, Fred Burton, daughter-in-law Chris and grandchildren Noah (Marla) Burton and Sarah (Brad) Royalty; and dear friend Jana Burton. Fred was born and lived in Morehead, Kentucky until moving to Columbus with his wife Wanetta (who preceded him in death). He is the last one of 15 siblings to pass away. He is a veteran of the Korean War and was proud to be on an Honor Flight. He was an avid and knowledgeable Bible reader. Fred worked for many years in local factories and was later hired by Eastern Airlines until his retirement. While employed by the airlines, he was able to travel with Wanetta to various places throughout the world. The funeral service will be held at 10am Saturday, October 13th with visiting beginning at 9:30am, at Schoedinger Northeast Chapel, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd, Gahanna, OH 43230 with burial at Mifflin Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Pastor Steve Wachtman.
