Frederick Charles Baumann

Frederick "Fritz" Charles Baumann passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 20, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Fritz was born in Columbus, Ohio, graduated from Aquinas High School in 1949, attended the University of Dayton, and served in the Army with 82nd Airborne. Fritz worked with his father, brothers, nephews, and son at their family business, Fritz Baumann and Sons Inc, for over 70 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred C and Ellen (Fitzmartin) Baumann; brothers, Walter, William, and Robert and sister, Mary Jane Wirthman. He is survived by his loving wife, Myrna (Chaney) Baumann; daughter, Marty (Brian) Howard; son, Steve (Lisa) Baumann; grandsons, Blair, Brice, and Brett Baumann; and son, Fritz Baumann. He is also survived by his sisters, Elizabeth Reitter, Carol Perkins, and Nancy Mizesko; brothers, John "Jack" Baumann, and Kenneth "Rick" Baumann; many nieces and nephews. A memorial mass will be held at St. Pius X Church, 1051 Waggoner Road, Reynoldsburg, OH 43068, where the family will receive friends one hour prior to the mass at 11 am Saturday, September 9, 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to American Cancer Society. Thank you to the caring staff at Wesley Ridge and Hospice Services at Methodist Eldercare.
