Frederick Nixon

A funeral service for Frederick Nixon, 62 will be held on Friday October 2, 2009 at 10:00 AM at the Criss Schoedinger Funeral Home, 179 Granville St. Newark, Ohio, with Pastor Tom Myers Officiating. Burial will follow at Wilson Cemetery. Mr. Nixon was born in Bridgeport, West Virginia on March 23, 1947 to the late Eugene and Mary (Ball) Nixon. He passed away at Licking Memorial Hospital on September 29, 2009 while surrounded by his caring family. Fred was a Vietnam Veteran and proudly served 16 years in the United States Army. He owned several Pizza Shops, and was a volunteer at the aging program, and a member of the Druids. Mr. Nixon spent a lot of happy times at Wheeling Island Casino with his late wife Shirley who, as well, has recently passed. Fred loved is family and friends and spending as much time with them as possible. In passing his survivors are his children; Fred (Tracy) Nixon, Bill (Angie) Nixon, Mike Bush, Lisa (Richard) Gulick, Bruce Bush. Fred had 11 grandchildren; mother-in-law Betty (Paul) Snyder; Brother Robert Nixon; Sisters-in-law Judy Nixon, and Joyce Mort; and many other loving nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, and his loyal and loving dog Fancy. Along with his parents and wife Shirley, Fred was preceded in death by his brothers Ed and Jim Nixon, and brother-in-law James Mohler. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
