It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a truly wonderful man, G. Bradford (Brad) Johnson, whose warmth, generosity, and zest for life left an imprint on all who had the privilege to know him.
Brad was a man who loved deeply and wholeheartedly. He was a devoted husband of 24 years to his beloved wife, Donna, with whom he shared a beautiful partnership filled with love, laughter, and adventure. He was a proud and caring father to his sons, Ben (Tara) Johnson and Luke (Stephanie) Johnson and a loving stepfather to Jenn (John) Sutton, each of whom he cherished and supported with boundless affection. Nothing brought him more joy than being “Papa” to his grandchildren, Avery, Reid, Grant, June and Ruby. They were the light of his life, and his stories, adventures, and warm presence will forever live in their hearts. He was a loving son to his parents and brother to his siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents Bob and Joyce Johnson and his brother Bob (Jo) Johnson and survived by his sister Michelle Mowrey and brother Scott Johnson.
Brad had a gift for storytelling—whether recounting life’s everyday moments or sharing tales from his many travels, he had a way of bringing people together and making them feel seen and valued. His passion for boating and exploring new places was matched only by his dedication to his family and work. He enjoyed experiencing new cultures and enjoyed travel’s exposure to new foods, wines, places, and most importantly people. He made friends everywhere he went and was always quick to make people laugh and feel comfortable.
He was a Golden Bear of Upper Arlington High School graduating in the class of '68 and a Buckeye of Ohio State graduating in '72. As an exceptional real estate professional and developer, he earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike and he was a mentor to many. He was known not just for his skill but for his integrity, kindness, humor, and unwavering commitment to helping others.
His legacy is one of love, adventure and connection - a life well-lived and a man well-loved. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. As he would often say at the end of an outing with friends and family, “Outta beer, outta here."
An informal celebration of life will be held at The Bailey at Bridge Park (4455 Winder Dr, Dublin, OH 43017) on Tuesday, June 24th from 5:00-7:00 pm. Please join the family to honor and remember the incredible person Brad was.
