I met Gansey in the late 1980’s and we developed a wonderful business relationship, which evolved into a outstanding personal friendship. Gansey was a unique individual who had some interesting stories and ideas. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. My heart goes out to Bonnie and family. Rest In Peace my friend.

For the past 32 years I have been Gansey’s son-in-law. I have had the honor of being in love with and married to His and Cece’s eldest daughter Ann and we are the parents three of his five beautiful grandchildren. I always loved my visits to Columbus where Gansey and I would talk for hours about the many subjects so commonly referenced in the other remembrances. 

Gansey was a true gentleman and he loved his family. As an only child and the father of two daughters, the great Johnston name will continue throughout in spirit and kindness through his grandchildren. Rest In Peace dear friend. We love you Poppa!

Gansey and I worked together at Marzett’s for more than 42 years. His Dad was president when I was hired in 1973. I throughly enjoyed working with Gans and appreciated his knowledge of the commodity markets and his historical perspective regarding many current events of the times. His wit was legendary. Conversation with Gans could span Ohio State Football all the way to Russia. His devotion to Marzetti was as much family as it was duty. He was a bit shy on the outside but totally sincere on the inside. He was the Gans and I often sought his opinions and wisdom.

I was a long-time employee of the T. Marzetti company. It was my great privilege to report to Gansey for many years. He made coming to work a joy! Our entire department enjoyed his funny personality and fairness. RIP Gansey—You will always be remembered.

Gansey and I worked together for many years at the T. Marzetti Company. I always enjoyed our many conversations on diverse topics such as his days working at the Marzetti restaurant, commodity markets, the stock market, politics, exotic cars, books, movies, baseball and music. Gansey particularly appreciated history, his college major as I recall, which informed his perspective. 
Gansey was unique and I shall always remember him; may he Rest In Peace.

I have so many wonderful memories of Gansey.  He hired me at Marzetti 38 years ago.  I worked directly for him for many years.  We had great conversations about movies, books and over years he gave me some good advice.  I have missed him since he retired.  Rest in peace sir!  It was my pleasure to have known you. Gansey Johnston, my goodness.  So sorry to read of your passing.  I remember you from highschool.  I was at CSG and you were at Academy.  I believe we even went to a dance together.  My sincere condolences to your family.  Judy Pass Redd Class of 1957.
