Gary E. Garrabrant

A celebration of life service for Gary Edward Garrabrant Sr., 56, will be held on Monday, December 21, 2009 at 3:00PM at the Criss Schoedinger Funeral Home, 179 Granville St., Newark, OH, with Pastor Tom Myer officiating.

Gary passed away at his residence on Thursday, December 17, 2009 while surrounded by his family. Gary was born on July 26, 1953 in Newark, to the late Earl Edward and Virginia (Ingram) Garrabrant.

On May 6, 1982 Gary married the love of his life Joddie Grover and celebrated over 26 years together. Along with fishing he was an avid drag racing fan and collected a number of John Force memorabilia; but his love was spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife Joddie survivors include; children, Gary Jr. (Lori) Garrabrrant of Newark, Kelli Mettler of Newark, Robyn (Bryan) Sattelmyer of Heath, Kendra (Jeremy) Lewallen of Hamilton, Shona, and Shanna (Garrabrant) Farmer of Hamilton, and Shannon Rector of Newark; 18 grandchildren and two great granddaughters, and three special cousins; Tina (Barry) Leab, Sondra (David) Lester and David Ables; and one very special lady Barb Lanning along with a host of other loving friends.

In addition to his parents Gary is preceded in death by his granddaughter Rashay and one Grandson Tyler (Turtle) and a special cousin Patty Stevens and ex-wife (special best friend Laura Diane Wunder.

Friends may call on Monday from 2PM to 3PM with services following. Contribution may be made to the Hospice of Central Ohio in Gary’s name.
