Gary R. George, 82, of Columbus, passed away on Monday, December 18, 2017. He was born in Columbus, Ohio to the late Robert and Marguerite George. Gary was a very talented athlete in high school. He played football, baseball and basketball for Linden McKinley. He was a retired US Postal Service worker. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Army. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert George; and step-brother, Charles George. He is survived by his children, Craig George and Kelley Sullins; 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; special friend, Shirley Vanzant; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 2-3pm at Schoedinger North Chapel, 5554 Karl Road, Columbus, Ohio 43229 where a memorial service will follow at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Amvets Post #89 or The Capital Area Humane Society.
