

Gary Scott Harper, age 59, of Galloway, died peacefully August 31, 2016 at his home in the presence of loved ones following a three year battle with cancer. He worked as a sales engineer for Unifrax Corp. for 20 years and more recently at Ohio Industrial Sales. He was an avid golfer and member of Hickory Hills Golf Club. Gary was a diehard Browns fan and a youth football and baseball coach for many years. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh, kind heart, and encouragement of others. Gary is survived by his wife of 32 years, Linda; children, Jennifer (Gavin) Herscher of Scott Depot, WV and Benjamin Harper of Portland, OR; granddaughters, Mila, Kenley, and Farren Herscher; parents, Kenneth and Patricia Harper of Avon Lake, OH; brother, Jeff (Holly) Harper of Strongsville, OH, many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 12, 2016 at Student Center of Cypress Wesleyan Church (note: this is not accessible through the main church building; use the North parking lot), 377 Alton Darby Creek Road , where friends will be received one hour prior to the service.
