

Gary T. Knight, age 73, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012. He was born in Columbus on April 1, 1939, and he always loved playing jokes on April Fool’s Day. After graduating from Grandview High School, Gary served our country in the US Army. He worked for 30 years as a door-to-door insurance salesman. After his retirement from insurance, he continued working in motorcycle production at Honda for 8 years. Gary loved to play pool, and he could be found almost any night of the week in pool halls all around the city. He also had a passion for cooking and feeding people, especially his friends. He could tell jokes for hours, and he will be remembered for his fun and lighthearted spirit. He was preceded in death by his father, Ted Knight; and half-brother, Bob Breech. Gary is survived by his mother and step-father, Virginia and Herb Carr; daughters, Stacie and Jodie Knight; son, James “JR” (Lisa) Knight; 2 grandsons; 3 great grandchildren; and companion of 16 years, fiancée Lois “Brandy” Knott, her son, Chad, and her granddaughter, Laura. He will also be missed by several nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as many, many friends, especially John Highfill. Family will receive friends from 2-7 p.m. on Sunday, July 29, 2012, at the SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL 5554 Karl Road. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
