

Gayle dedicated more than 40 years of service to Riverside Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, working in Radiation Oncology. Throughout her career, she cared deeply for the patients who walked through her doors, offering not only professional support but also comfort, encouragement, and a friendly smile. She was beloved by her colleagues and respected for her unwavering dedication to helping others during some of life's most difficult moments.
Gayle was known for her warm heart, quick wit, and ability to brighten anyone’s day. She was always ready to lend a helping hand, offer support, or share a laugh. Her kindness and generosity left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Simply put, Gayle was everyone’s buddy.
Outside of work, Gayle was a passionate sports fan. She faithfully cheered on the Cleveland Browns and never stopped believing that this would be their year to win the Super Bowl. She was also a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and enjoyed following their successes throughout the years.
Gayle is survived by her brother, Kirt Jenkins, and his wife, Sheila Jenkins; her niece, Jennifer Jenkins, and Jennifer’s daughter, Kira; and her niece, Michelle Hess, and Michelle’s wife, Maggie Hess.
Gayle will be deeply missed by her family, friends, coworkers, and the many patients whose lives she touched. Her compassion, humor, and genuine care for others made the world a better place. Though she is no longer with us, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain in the hearts of those who knew her forever.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, July 21, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at Schoedinger Funeral Home (1740 Zollinger Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43221). In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to OhioHealth Hospice House in Gayle’s memory.
