

Geoffrey Holmes Hornbeck, 60 formerly of Grove City, Ohio passed away Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Geoff was born September 24, 1957 in Springfield, Ohio to the late Glenna L. (Haerr) Hornbeck and George H. Hornbeck. Geoff gave loving care to and was preceded in death by his wife of 18 years Gayle Lynn Marie (Miller) Hornbeck.
Geoff attended school in the Northeastern (Ohio) School District for 11 years, graduated from Springfield (Ohio) Shawnee High School in 1976 and attended The Ohio State University where he majored in English. During his career he worked for McKesson Medical-Surgical Company, Mount Carmel Home Medical as well as Mount Carmel Hospital and Riverside Methodist Hospital, all in Columbus, Ohio. He is survived by brother David B. (Joan) Hornbeck of Columbus, Ohio; sisters Jacquelyn K. Hornbeck and Carol J. (Richard) Moody, both of Casa Grande, Arizona; nieces Kirsten L. Hornbeck of Cincinnati, Ohio and Shannon Moody of Casa Grande, Arizona; nephews Jason R. (Jennifer) Moody of Phoenix Arizona and David Scott Moody of Casa Grande; and many great nephews, nieces, and cousins. Our family and friends will miss his ever present wit and dry sense of humor. In addition to his daytime employment activities, Geoff also became the author of mystery novels under the pseudonym/nom de plume of Glenn A. Jones using the fictitious "Frank Jackson" as the primary hero as well as Peter Guy George using the fictitious children's character "Tony Crowne". See and
Geoff converted to the Roman Catholic faith and was received into full communion on April 7, 2007 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Grove City, Ohio. Geoff's family will receive friends 4-7 Thursday at the Schoedinger Grove City Chapel 3920 Broadway. Prayer Service 7:30 PM Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 AM Friday, February 2, 2018 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church 3730 Broadway. Rev. Fr. Daniel J. Millisor, celebrant.
