Buddy was born on January 27th, 1941 in Columbus, Ohio to his loving parents, Perry and Effie (Hughes) Ailshire, who welcomed him into heaven. George grew up alongside 4 older sisters who cared for their baby brother with joy. He is survived by his two sisters Wilma Gannon and Alice Williams, and preceded in death by his sisters and brother in laws, Margaret (Tippy) Carpenter, Charlene (Bob) Dozier, Chuck Gannon and Tracey Williams.
Buddy is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Rebecca (Blessing) Ailshire. Buddy and Becky met when they were teens on a double date to a drive in movie. Buddy always retold that story adding how beautiful Becky was in her light yellow cardigan sweater. They were married on July 17, 1959. Buddy and Becky had a marriage that inspired all that knew them as they selflessly served and loved one another until the very end.
Buddy never liked to sit still, which made him an amazing train conductor for CXS (formerly Conrail) for 41 years. This was a challenging career that had him travelling to and from Indianapolis, IN often and at times leaving in the middle of a Christmas dinner, which he did faithfully to support and bless his family. The railroad coworkers became like family to him, including Buddy's best friend, Ernie Davis.
Buddy is also survived by his two loving sons, James (Margaret) Ailshire and George (Susan) Ailshire. Buddy was a father who loved fiercely. He taught and passed on his love and passions of spending time with family, motorcycles, working on cars and stereos, boating and waterskiing, gardening, playing in the snow, houseboating in Kentucky, and camping on his family land in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Family was at the core of who Buddy was and what he valued most in life. We are all grieving this loss and will always feel the love he left in our spirits. Buddy is also preceded in death by dear loved ones, his mother and father in-law James and Macel (Cramer) Blessing and Sister in law Victoria (Blessing) Hannigan.
Buddy is also survived by his sister in laws; Diane Blessing, Penelope Ray, Tamara (Walter) Buczkowski, grandchildren; Adeline (Fredrick) Odrumsky, Elizabeth (Corey) Rauh, Katharina and Gracella Ailshire, great-grandchildren; James and Megan Odrumsky and Rebecca and Elise Rauh, many nieces and nephews, many cousins and many friends like family.
