George Wayne Evans

He is survived by his wife and soul mate of 36 years, Patty McClain-Evans, sons, Roy D. Ricks, and Mike McClain (Marcy). He was Papaw to three grandchildren (Doug, Heather, and Ashtyn) and four great grandchildren (Maddylin, Raegin, Briana, and Jaiden). He is also survived by three brothers, Steven Evans (Jackie), Michael Evans (Jenny), and Allen Evans (Rhonda).

George was a Lance Corporal Vietnam Veteran, serving two tours. He was an active Trustee and past Quartermaster for VFW Post #9857. He was also an active member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge #1427 in Worthington, Ohio. He was retired from OSU/Don Scott Field. He was a coach and umpire of Gahanna Junior baseball. He was an avid fisherman and boater. He enjoyed playing poker with his buddies at the VFW Post. He loved the great outdoors; finding peace with the woods, water, and all critters.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, March 17th from 1:00pm – 3:00pm and 5:00pm-7:00pm at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST, 1051 E. Johnstown Road, Gahanna, Ohio. Interment will be held on Friday, March 18th at 3:00pm at Glen Rest Memorial Estate, 8029 East Main St., Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
