

George Francis Gluth, Jr, 88 of Columbus, died Thursday, September 30, 2010 at home. He was born July 23, 1922 in Columbus to the late George F., Sr. and Abby Gluth. He graduated from McKinley High School and served in the Navy on the USS Essex. He was very creative, loved welding, making gadgets and corn hole games with his grandchildren, gardening, fishing and golf, was a character and quite the storyteller. He was an avid camper at Hidden Lakes. He loved to go to garage sales. He was a member of the American Legion, VFW, Amvets and Moose. He is preceded in death by his wife Rita in 1997 and sister Marjorie Finch. He is survived by daughters Georgene Dellinger and Carolyn (Randy) Marcum, six grandchildren Paul, Kevin (Brooke), Angie, Amy, Andy, and Joey, four great grandchildren, special friends, Gerald, Gayla, John Richardson and Mike Day. Family will receive friends Sunday from 6-8 PM at SCHOEDINGER NORTH CHAPEL, 5554 Karl Rd. where a funeral service will be held Monday at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
