

George Philip Pilkington, Jr. was born May 9, 1944, in Des Moines, Iowa, and passed away August 11, 2021. He was 77 years old. During his life, he enjoyed being outdoors whether it was camping, fishing, gardening, or watching birds. He also enjoyed sharing good times, and good jokes with his many friends and family. He worked at Huntington National Bank until his retirement. After his retirement, he worked seasonal jobs at the Franklin County Board of Elections, Manheim Auto Auction, and Road Runner. He happily donated his time to many organizations such as the Boy Scouts of America, where he served as Scoutmaster of troop 86 and received his Arrow of Light award. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Navy where he proudly served his country both overseas and at home. Later, he was a participant and volunteered as a guardian for Honor Flight. Additionally, he was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church of Grove City where he volunteered in many positions. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings and is survived by his wife of 50 years Connie Pilkington (Olney), his children Rachael Pilkington and Philip Pilkington, his grandchildren Jacob Antis and Ashton Pilkington, and his great-granddaughter. There will be a memorial service with military honors held for George at a later date.
