

George J. Vogel, age 67, of Lewis Center, passed away on Monday, September 23, 2013. He was born to the late Ralph and Eloise Vogel on December 16, 1945. George served in the U.S. Army 60th Infantry in Alaska doing Search and Rescue. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and hobbyist, collecting cars, toys, and model trains. George was also a Civil War Historian. He loved to study the Civil War and once took part in a reenactment. A very spiritual man, George will be missed for his supportive and loving presence. In addition to his parents, George was preceded in death by his brother, Joe Vogel; and brother-in-law, Robert Seibert. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susie; son; Ron Vogel daughter, Lisa (Marcus) Fude; grandsons, Nick, Matt, TJ, and Chris Vogel; brother, Ralph (Carol) Vogel Jr.; sister, Mary Seibert; many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Friends may call from 1-3pm and 6-8pm on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at the SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N High St., Worthington, where the funeral service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, September 26, 2013.
